5 Word Vacation Tips

AS usual, I participate in Hashtag Games on Twitter. This one specifically is dear to me because I love travelling and I'm definitely in vacation mode now! So here are the tips I gave, and adding to the #WednesdayWisdom which I always find a quote to add to the tweeple's cauldron, that makes it more than vacation tips, they are quotes to live by:

-Bring A Book With You

I remember like it was today. It was back on 1984, it was during the summer in Brazil. I was on a vacation with my family. My aunt had brought books for everyone. I chose "Sphinx", a novel by Robin Cook written in 1979. I went reading with no expectations at all. And what was my surprise. I realized I love that kind of thriller since I was ten when I found out about mystery books. So much so that I already had written some tales about that same age. It was an unforgettable summer, not only for the songs that played on the radio, such as Duran Duran's "Save A Prayer", but for the working vacation I had, along with the Egyptologist from the plot, and working my brains out to find the enigmas, already planning to follow my career as a writer.

-Talk To Everyone You Meet

They will always have messages for us, we just have to be willing to listen to the words they say, have an open heart and see the wisdom they can bring even in the smallest things... Or even if they are mere reflections of a history long gone. {Or maybe not yet overcome!)

- Give High Five To EVERYONE!

We never know what people may have gone through in their lives. And when we are on vacation mode we are prepared to meet the unexpected, we feel vulnerable because we are in places that might be unfamiliar to us. So why not open a smile and give high-fives to everyone that passes by? Even for four-fingerd frog!

-Go Out And Play Hard

Surprises are hidden in every corner. Go explore! And that definitely means in our daily life. Creativity happens in the most strange places.

-Dance Every Place You Can

And that again serves to everything we do in our basic routine. Find your bliss, feel the joy, dance and enjoy!

-Find Beauty In Every Corner

There's a saying that goes like this: "Beuaty is in the eye of the beholder." If we always see something beautiful, that we can take with us, not in the material sense, but in a metaphysical plane and plan, then we may replay it in our memories.

-Respect Those Who Are Around

And then again this serves us well and throughout our whole lives. I've seen in the news over and over again, people at the zoos cuddling animals, and outdoor in nature messing around with the gorillas, the crocodiles, the stingrays (even experienced people got hurt by doing so). Shame on them by not being careful. It's a jungle out there!

-Teach And Learn Something New

It's Too Hot!

#ClimateAction It's been more than ten yrs that I've been warning people about Global warming. Now the news about the Great Barrier Reefs, the largest living structure on the planet, being in a dire strait, with all the bleaching and oil spill, finding itself in a deplorable state, shouldn't surprise anyone. And there are still those who keep thinking global warming as a scientif hoax. Nope.
Unfortunately, this isn't so? It's in fact too real. And Let's face it, this Beauty is drastically disappearing from Earth and I am afraid I will have to scratchke the Great Barrier Reef off of my bucket list unless governments act fast to reverse the damages.

. And I just had to share The Power of We dedicated to education. The more we know the more empowered we will become. So let's start learning more about what covers seventy-percent of the earth: the sea life!

But we can still rehabilitate the environment by cooling the water down. The Power of WE(trailer of the DOCUMENTARY The Twelve Dolphins, about the importance of seamammals to battle the climate change)

Checked Off Bucket List: Swim in the Fantasy Island Waterfall

Never Thought I'd See the Fantasy Island Waterfall, Much less swim and take a bath under its water, I watched the Fantasy Island TV Series during my childhood and that first opening scene of the waterfalls taken from an helicopter was breathtaking. I always dreamed of going there. And, there, there... I've made it!

The access is not as easy as it may seem, so you have to hike and go through a dense forest. But it's so worth the ride. Wailua Falls have two great and rich falls into two streams and a smaller cascade right in the middle. I went there in May, so it was not so thick. And standing right down the cascades feels so good... I coukldn't stay too long, it's a strong stream and the currents almost took me to the other side... But what an experience! Once in a lifetime adventure.

Bondi Beach and its Pools: Checked!

Bondi is an aborigenal word and it means water breaking over rocks or noise of water breaking over the rocks and it's all on the rocks. I knew about its pool back on 2003 when my swimming coach told me about it, that he had done it and that I had to try it at least once in my life to go swim in that pool. So here I am checking it out and off of my list of things to do before I die. Bondi!!
There is an under water net to keep sharks away from both the swimmer and the surfers who suffer attacks anyway. One surfer suffered severe injuries and had his hand taken from a bite of a shark two days before I went back there. I wouldn't risk my life to go surfing but swimming in the pool is pretty safe. No sharks can swim that hard, or that high to jump inside the pool. At least that was recorded until today.

Checked Off My Bucket List: The Twelve Apostles

This blog has been sitting down and has been grounded for too long. So I have decided to make a bucket list of the things I have already done in my life and leave some room for what´s the next. It´s about time that I would have it a go and do a makeover, to lift up the spirits and fly high. So here I am posting again and with a new look. Going back is good but it´s way better to move forward. Looking forward to what I´ve been preparing. Anyway, here are some of the items already checked from my list:

The Twelve Apostles from my trip to Australia, if you notice the image in the header of this blog you will see that there were still the initial nineth rock formation (BTW one of the most beautiful of them all).

The Twelve Apostles in VICTORIA, AUSTRALIA. My elbow is pointing to the stack which collapsed and now there are only eight remaining.

Those are rocks, or a collection of limestone stacks distributed in a magnificent way around the shore with an incredible viewpoint from the Great Ocean Road. I took plenty of pictures but as my British friend Jon Vaughan said, "It´s a waste taking pictures for they all look the same as the other tourists took in the end." That´s so true! But pics with me on it only I could take; so I saved a selfie. I´m sure no one has took this photo, hehe.

To Be Continued (with many more to come...)

Maceio, Brasil

A good writer is also an avid reader. A good reader is also a vivid dreamer. A good dreamer is also a good learner. And a good learner is definitely a good listener. A good listener is always looking to what the heart speaks. A spoken heart talks directly to a silent soul. And a silent soul is most of the time in pace with a peaceful thought. A peaceful thought is also a good writer... VIVA!!
